Microsoft announces new Office file formats

It’s official. Microsoft announces new open XML Office File Formats. The video and links to all the news are here.

Heads up to Scobleizer for this good piece of news. He also points out that Mac users will not be left out.

It is pretty cool that the file sizes will be less than current ones too.
