Odeo

So Odeo’s podcasting service is now available. It is all pretty intuitive although provides support for a limited number of software packages for managing mp3s (either iTunes or Windows Media Player). However, this doesn’t cause too much extra set up and I got it to work just fine with Ephpod. The directory of podcasts is being populated at an incredible rate, judging by my browsing over the weekend since I signed up on Friday.

The synchronisation tool is still being worked on, with the real trade off coming for customizability (for example you can’t yet specify the folder you want to download your podcasts to). Certainly intuitive to use and convenient to have the podcasting directory integrated in with the software download. Useful for those (such as myself) that use computers at work and at home. I can edit my subscription list or queue podcasts for download from work, and then Odeosyncr downloads them automatically when I fire up my computer at home.
