Phil mentioned a while ago a service which uses RSS to alert you to particular topics in broadcasts and newsfeeds. Well the launched site also offers a great deal of functionality for podcasts. From the site:
blinkx.tv uses advanced speech recognition and video analysis to actually listen and watch thousands of podcasts and video-blogs every day. This gives blinkx.tv a more in depth understanding of exactly what each podcast is about and allows you to jump straight to the item that is most relevant to you from hundreds of thousands of hours of content.
Whilst not entirely clear, it appears that the application uses speech recognition software to translate podcasts into text and allow text searching of podcast content.
