Find and Run Robot
Snapfiles has an interesting piece of freeware utility software.
‘Find and Run Robot enables you to quickly find programs and documents by simply typing the partial name for it into a small dialog, that can be opened with the Pause key on your keyboard. The program quickly scans all entries in your Programs menu as well as My Documents and other common locations, and you can also add any other folder to be included in the search (not intended to search your entire computer though). Furthermore, you can tweak the results by assigning scores, excluding certain files and various other criteria. The search results are displayed almost instantly and the found program or document can be launched quickly with the click of a button. Find and Run Robot is designed to allow complete operation via keyboard, with no need for any mouse interaction. ‘
It is obviously not as good as active words but hey it is free – so, if your budget is tight you might want to check it out.
