apple support
Well, I have been happily computing along with my new macbook. It has been a pretty smooth ride actually and one that has been very enjoyable.
Until Saturday…. when I was watching some 24 off a dvd in the dvd drive - the drive started to make some very weird noises and then ejected the dvd. Since then the drive would not accept either cd’s or dvd’s and would just eject them straight away. Well, after a bit of whiring from the drive.
So, on Monday I rang the apple shop:
9.10am - sorry there is no one available in the service centre, I will get them to call you back today.
5.15pm - Since there has been no call, I ring again. Sorry they do not have time to speak to you, but they will ring you first thing tomorrow morning.
11am - no call, so I ring again. This time I got on to Joel who sold me the unit in the first place. 2 minutes of describing the problem and he tells me that I can bring it straight in and they will swap it over for a brand new machine.
12:30pm - dropped it in. Went to a cafe with a friend.
2.30pm - picked it up - all my files and applications as they were.
A shaky start in my first experience of Apple support but they finished with flying colors.
So, lesson learnt - ring back Joel if I have any problems.
Thank you Joel!
