I have now stopped using microsoft word on my intel macbook. Junked it - it just runs way too slow. I have changed all the defaults to pages.

It will be interesting to see how I go with compatability with other word users and generally using pages as my main word processor.

If pages doesn’t work there are a number of open source office suites that I could give a try.
