smartfolders in osx

I have not used smart folders very much on my mac. For some reason it seems that it cool technology but I can’t think of any actual use for it. Then I thought about that current projects folder that sits on my desktop where I put all my documents that I am currently work on. Helps me to be prompted to continue to work on them as well giving me easier access to them.

The problem is that sometimes I don’t regular file the documents into their appropriate directories and so they bank up - leaving a boring filing job to be done. And like paper filing it doesn’t get done enough.

I had this thought that maybe I could use smart folders to do the same thing. So, I am going to try having a smart folder that displays those documents that I have edited in the last two weeks. See how I go. The benefit I forsee here is that the filing will be done once when I create the document.
